Commitment to Japanese tea

A cup of Japanese tea can help you relax, refresh your mood, and enjoy conversations with friends and family.
Suddenly, I realized that Chittö 's Japanese tea was the real deal.

At Chittö , we only purchase high-quality Kakegawa tea directly from producers, produced in Kakegawa City, one of Shizuoka Prefecture's famous Japanese tea producing areas. We will provide it with the thoughts of the producers.

Kakegawa tea, which grows in a land blessed with abundant water and a warm climate, is a famous tea that has won awards at numerous competitions. Sencha is made using the deep steaming method, which steams tea leaves for a longer period of time than usual, and is characterized by its rich, sweet, and deep flavor with less bitterness and odor.

Authentic taste, from authentic makers.

As a producer's storyteller, I will deliver my work with my feelings and passion for Kakegawa tea.
We act as a bridge between producers and everyone.

Solid quality backed by tradition and SDGs

Production of Kakegawa tea began during the Azuchi and Momoyama periods.
In the Edo period, Japanese tea production became serious, and there is an anecdote that the castle lord at the time, Mr. Kazutoyo Yamauchi, treated Mr. Tokugawa Ieyasu with Japanese tea from Kakegawa.

During the period of high economic growth in the 1950s, Kakegawa tea made great strides, with the establishment of the deep steaming method, which greatly improved its flavor. Currently, in Shizuoka Prefecture, which produces about 50% of Japanese tea, Kakegawa tea accounts for about 10% of the production.

In 2013, Shizuoka's Chagusaba farming method was recognized as a World Agricultural Heritage Site.
This "Chagusaba farming method" is a farming method that not only produces high-quality tea but also preserves rich biodiversity, and is an important traditional agricultural method that should be passed on to the next generation.

Currently, over 30 tea farmers are registered as certified practitioners in Kakegawa City, and they are actively focusing on sustainable Japanese tea production, keeping in mind not only quality and productivity, but also consideration for the environment. I am.

Partner support

While high-quality Japanese tea is produced, there are many concerns faced by producers.
For example, there are various aspects such as lack of successors, aging of producers, and response to climate change.

For us, producers are important partners.

We will provide full support to producers in solving their problems, so that we can continue to provide our customers with high-quality Japanese tea in a sustainable manner.

Expressing Japanese tea with a modernized design

In today's rapidly changing society, lifestyles are also changing. Chittö 's products are not only of high quality, but also offer Japanese tea with a modernized design.

One of the founders of Chittö has traveled to more than 35 countries around the world and incorporates the culture, humanity, and scenery he has seen there into his designs.

In addition, we are actively promoting collaborations with other industries that have never existed before, and we hope to disseminate a new culture of Japanese tea with designs that are traditional, yet somehow modern. Masu.
